ABOUT OUR SESSIONS

Need help?

Trial Sessions

Each tutee is entitled to ONE trial session.

You will receive a 50% discount off of the PAYG price of the chosen session.
The trial session is an assessment of the tutees maths ability and how they pick up information.

F-2-F sessions:

Face-2-face sessions are held at home (subject to distance) or in a public area (e.g. Library). Tutees receive a blank maths book where they can write down any useful notes during the session.

Online sessions:

Online sessions take place on zoom and are quite similar to face-2-face sessions. All notes taken during the session are sent directly to the tutee. Key parts of the session can be recorded and sent to the tutee when requested.

Tailored to the tutee

Methods are created for the tutees understanding

  • At M4thTeeMatix we know that there’s always more than one way to answer a question, with this knowledge we break down all methods so that each individual understands why and how to tackle each question

  • We acknowledge that Everyone is different so different techniques are used per tutee

Up to 1 hour long

  • The duration of a session is based on the tutees attention span

  • Tutees aren’t pressured to complete the full hour of a session

  • If a tutee starts to feel “Brain ache” or overwhelmed with information, it’s better to give the tutee time to process the new information instead of bombarding them with more information

Offer homework help

  • We understand that sometimes in school the learning pace might be faster than students can keep up with, so we provide extra support with their homework and current in-class topics.

  • Give more time for students to understand & strengthen each topic

  • Remember our tutors WON’T DO the tutees homework but WILL ASSIST with the homework.

Include M4thTeeMatix termly PERSONALISED PROGRESS TESTS (for regular block students)

  • At the end of every term tutees receive a personalised progress test with topics that have only been covered in their sessions

  • The excuse “We didn’t do this yet” is removed!

Interactive

  • Whiteboards are used in both ZOOM and F2F sessions, where both the tutor and tutee can write and show methods

  • Worksheets are used build confidence and further develop each topic learnt

  • Uses a range of colours to explain methods and to keep tutees engaged in each session

Primary school:

  • Online sessions available from Year 5

  • F-2-F sessions recommended for Year 1 to 4

  • Fundamental mathematics taught, e.g. Writing numbers correctly,

  • Multiplication, Division, Problem solving etc

  • Fun and interactive sessions

  • SATS exam practice included

Secondary school:

  • GCSE topics taught from as yearly year 7 (based on the tutees capability)

  • Aim to teach topics ahead of current school year syllabus

  •  Exam prep covered (for most exam boards)

  • Homework help available on request

  • Online and Face-2-Face sessions available

  • Strong fundamentals are utmost priority

  • GCSE grading system explained

A-Level:

  • Core and Further Maths topics covered (Edexcel exam board preferred)

  • Online sessions are most suitable

  • Aim to cover as much content as possible as early as possible to give the tutee more time to practice and understand questions (since most of the topics learnt at this level are new)

  • Entrance exam assistance available upon request

  • Personal statement/Job/Internship advice offered

  • Flexible availability for sessions

  • Twice a week sessions are recommended
